Super Sunday

Mr P and I love our Sundays, and most weeks we’ve usually got something lovely planned so we get to spend some quality time together before going back to work on Monday.

Autumn is undoubtedly one of the most romantic times of the year, when the leaves are rich with vibrant shades of crimson and burnt orange, and the air is crisper so you link arms a little tighter.

It’s also when your palate starts to crave a homely roast over the late summer barbecues, so we headed a few junctions down the M5 and grabbed a table at 131, The Promenade. We’ve visited the Wheatsheaf in Northleach a few times over our numerous Cotswold outings and have always loved the interiors, so it was a good opportunity to take a look at another venue within The Lucky Onion’s portfolio.

We were shown to our table, and unfortunately the recent downpour meant there was a leak from the retractable roof so the seating was damp. The waitress swiftly moved us upstairs (we didn’t mind, we managed to have a nose at a few other rooms during our detour). We both ordered the roast beef, and it was cooked to perfection. Sadly, we were both too full to order a dessert but we’ll remember to leave more room at our next visit.
